Lets make a meal with our roadpro oven.

I’m a lucky trucker. Not all of us have the creature comforts on board that I do.

My company allowed me to put in a 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter.

That means simply that I can use many household appliances, microwave, induction cooker, crock pot, even an electric frying pan.

 My favorite however, is one that all of us can use.

A RoadPro 12 volt electric oven available at any loves truck stop, and perhaps best of all, if you save a few love’s points on your card you get it free like I did. Here  it is

I utilize this little  guy 4 days a week.

This unit reaches about 300 degrees. 

Just a few things to look out for. 

The temperature is more or less the same as a crock pot on high, so check the food every few hours to be sure it does not boil dry.

 Why not simply use a crock pot?

1: the lid latches shut, keeping heat and steam in.

2: easier to clean.

3: easier to strap down.

On a moving truck keeping things in place can save your life.

Next: why is it easier to clean?

Aluminium cooking pans (see the pictures). 

These pans are 3 for a dollar at the dollar tree for the large and 5 for a dollar for the small size.

You can apply two small ones like this.

Or one large one.

Don’t buy them at Loves, they want $4.99 for three of the large, and don’t sell the small ones at all.

I put my meal in before I start driving in the morning. I fast from 7pm to 11am.

When 11am comes  around my food has cooked for about 5 hours and my truck smells like heaven.
